2D Series
I have always liked painting, and I have been particularly intrigued by metal as a medium. Through experimentation, I’ve developed my own method of painting on metal through patination. Starting with pure copper as a substrate, I apply chemical reagents to develop layers of color and texture. Learn more about my technique here.
Like a snowflake, every time you see a patina it will be different than everything else. I think the colors created by patinas reflect things from the natural world such at forests, grass, the sky, and the ocean. Throughout my projects, I have become mesmerized by different areas on my copper art, and if I move my focus even an inch in one direction a new feeling is evoked.
