Artist Statement

I’m inspired by nature and the ways it creates patterns, colors, and textures.

I’m particularly fascinated by copper as a medium that transcends both natural and industrial realms. My process combines ancient tools— hammers, blades and fire— with modern alchemy to transform this base metal from simple to sublime. 

The ultimate expression of my creativity is patina, a mosaic of colors I’ve learned to create through the chemical reaction of copper and oxidizing reagents. Like snowflakes, the swirls and hues of each patina provide a unique signature to my work, blurring the lines between natural processes and intention.
